I am pleased to announce the publication of the first Working Paper in the World Order Project Working Paper Series.
The paper is entitled:
Review of Jamie Coats, The Rupture Sandwich: A Guide to Preventing Total Nuclear War
This scholarly review examines Jamie Coats' work from the perspectives of Political Science, Historical Sociology, and International Relations. Its primary focus is the author's Rupture Framework, including the Civil War Net Score (CWNS) and the Jamie Index, which are critically assessed as analytical tools for understanding political fragility, societal polarization, and geopolitical escalation.
The review is not intended merely as a conventional book review. Rather, it seeks to place the Rupture Framework within broader theoretical debates concerning:
Political Fragility
International Order
Geopolitical Systemic Transformation
Empire Formation
Democratic Resilience
Long-Term Structural Change
A central objective of the paper is to evaluate the theoretical contribution and methodological foundations of Coats' framework while exploring its relevance for contemporary debates in Political Science and International Relations.
At the same time, this publication marks the beginning of a broader research programme. Building upon the review, I intend to develop a series of scholarly studies that connect the Rupture Framework with my own research on:
World Order Theory
Empire Formation in the Twenty-First Century
Systemic Transformation of International Order
State Fragility and Global Governance
The overarching aim is to examine whether contemporary political fragmentation and geopolitical instability represent manifestations of a deeper transformation of the international system and the emergence of a new global order.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jamie Coats for his openness to scholarly dialogue and for his willingness to engage in a constructive academic exchange. I hope that this review will serve as the starting point for a broader theoretical discussion concerning the future evolution of political order in the twenty-first century.
